Get rid of Shortcut Arrow

By: Arie Slob

Shortcut icons have a small curved arrow in the lower-left corner. To remove the arrow, follow these instructions:

  1. Start the Registry Editor
  2. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ lnkfile
  3. Delete the value IsShortcut
  4. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ piffile
  5. Delete the value IsShortcut
  6. Close the registry editor and restart Windows

Note: This can also be done with TweakUI, one of Microsoft's PowerToys.
