No "New" on the right-click context menu

Sometimes you can loose the "New" option on the right-click context menu. This seems to be related to the presence of Internet Explorer 4.x. To restore this option:

  1. Start the Registry Editor
  2. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ Directory \ Background \ shellex \ ContextMenuHandlers \ New \
  3. The value for (Default) in the right-hand pane should be:
    To make it more easy for you to copy/paste, we've put the string in a text box.

Alternatively you can download this registry patch. Save it to your desktop, then just double-click to import the registry info in your registry.
