Insert key no longer defaults to type-over in MS Word 97

One annoying change in MS Word 97 is that you cannot just press the [Insert] key on your keyboard to start overwriting text. Here is how to get that functionally back:

From the Tools menu choose Customize
Select the Keyboard Tab
Select the Press New Shortcut Key box, and press the Insert Key on your keyboard
In the Categories column select All Commands
In the Commands column select Overtype
Click Assign and Close

Now if you press your [Insert] key you will see the "OVR" toggle on the status bar....
