How do I Format a Floppy Disk in Explorer?
The trick is you can NOT have drive A open in Windows Explorer, nor can you use left mouse button to highlight drive A if you want to format the floppy disk. If drive A is open, click on drive C first to close drive A. Then, use the right mouse button to click on drive A and choose Format from the drop-down menu.
