Freeing Disk Space

By: Arie Slob

If you don't need animated help with scrolling, minimizing windows, etc., you can free up just over 7MB of hard drive space by deleting the .AVI files from the \Windows\help directory.

You can safely delete *.gid AND *.fts files from your hard drive. These files are created when a help file is opened (*.gid) and a search is made within it (*.fts). Just do a search (press F3 in Explorer) of your hard drive. You can easily free a couple of MB's!

More can be found at the Cleaning up your Hard Disk page.
