All Programs Menu Extends Off the Screen

By: Arie Slob

When you have many programs installed on Windows XP, you may find that when you click Start and then point to All Programs, the list extends off the screen, and you cannot see all the programs that are on the list.

One option is to enable scrolling:

  1. Right-click Start, select Properties
  2. Select the Start Menu tab, and then click Customize
  3. In the Customize Start Menu dialog box, click the Advanced tab
  4. Under Start menu items, click to select the Scroll Programs check box

Scroll Programs

Another option is to move programs into sub-folders. For example you could move all your games in a sub-folder called Games. This will free space on the All Programs menu. You can Drag & Drop other sub-folders from the All Programs menu onto the Games menu.

Note: The Games folder is a default folder already on the All Programs menu, which contains MS Games such as FreeCell, Hearts and others.
