Microsoft Announces Immediate Availability of Windows XP "Do Amazing Things" DVD With High-Definition Content, Great Software and Fun Tutorials
"We've packed the DVD with great high-quality content, software and tutorials so consumers can have a fun way to learn about new experiences with Windows XP," said Dave Fester, general manager of the Windows Digital Media Division at Microsoft. "Users of Windows XP can now enjoy some amazing content with unmatched audio and video quality, providing them with a visually stunning entertainment experience right on their desktops."
With the DVD, consumers can update their Windows XP-based PCs with the latest digital media software for Windows XP, including Windows Media Player 9 Series and Windows Movie Maker 2 (both are available from the Microsoft site as free downloads). They also can enjoy cool 3-D screen savers, fun PowerToys that help showcase their digital photos, and new visualizations for the Windows Media Player 9 Series. In addition, consumers can put on their director's cap with a new creativity kit for Windows Movie Maker 2.
Leading retailers including Amazon.com Inc. and CompUSA Inc. will offer the DVD free to customers with select purchases. Top PC manufacturer Gateway Inc. will offer the DVD through retail outlets. And starting today, consumers can order the "Do Amazing Things" DVD from the Microsoft Web site (US & CAN), for the cost of shipping and handling, starting at $2.99 (U.S.).
