Microsoft Updates Windows AntiSpyware Beta

Hello Windows users,
 This week, Microsoft updated their Windows AntiSpyware, which now carries the build number 1.0.613. The update is only minor, however still important, as the current version(s) 1.0.501/1.0.509 will expire on July 31st, 2005. The new version has the expiration date set to December 31st, 2005.
Some other minor fixes have been made, for example users that don't have their Windows Taskbar docked to the bottom of their screen will now be able to see status messages generated by WAS.
Microsoft also made improvements to the Winsock LSP removal mechanism, which should result in less disrupted network functionality when removing certain spyware LSPs.
Existing users of the beta (Builds 1.0.501 and 1.0.509) will receive a software update that extends the expiration date and includes the enhancements to the detection and removal capabilities.

Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP1 Update Blocker
 Microsoft this week released a toolkit designed to disable the automatic delivery of Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows Server 2003. Previously Microsoft offered the same for Windows XP SP2.
The blocking tool let administrators temporarily disable delivery of the Windows Server 2003 SP1 automatic update through Automatic Updates (AU) that is set to take place starting July 26, 2005.
The blocking tool will also prevent the Windows Server 2003 SP1 from being offered through Windows Update and Microsoft Update.
According to Microsoft, the mechanism to temporarily disable delivery of Windows Server 2003 SP1 will be available till March 30, 2006. At the end of this period, Windows Server 2003 SP1 will be delivered to all Windows Server 2003 servers.
