Microsoft Releases Vista December 2005 CTP

Hello Windows users,
On Monday 19 December Microsoft released Build 5270 as the December 2005 CTP (Community Technical Preview).
The new build, which succeeds the 5231 October CTP build, shows that Windows Vista has changed dramatically since the October CTP build. This new build includes tons of new features & functions.
The next CTP build is rumored to be released in February, and should show a "feature complete" Windows Vista.
I should have a review of the December 2005 CTP on the HelpWithWindows site next week.

Microsoft Windows Security Bulletin Summary for December, 2005
The security update for December 2005 includes fixes for Microsoft Windows and Internet Explorer.

Windows XP Updates
In the past week, Microsoft issued a number of updates for Windows XP:
- KB910437 - Prevent or resolve an issue in which Windows Update and Automatic Updates can no longer download updates after an Access Violation error occurs when using the Automatic Updates service.
- KB908521 - Resolves various issues that can occur when you use remote procedure call (RPC) for client/server communication.
- KB896427 - Resolves an issue in which you cannot view the contents of a subfolder on a network share. This issue becomes apparent after you install Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-011: Security Update for Windows XP (KB885250)
- KB835409 - For Windows XP Service Pack 1 systems to resolve an issue where System Restore may not work correctly or certain services may not function properly after using System Restore on SP1.

Australian Daylight Savings Changes for Microsoft Products for the Year 2006
The Commonwealth Games are scheduled to be held during March 2006 in Melbourne Australia.
