Microsoft Releases Malicious Software Removal Tool

Hello Windows users,
Microsoft has released the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool to help remove specific, prevalent malicious software from computers that are running Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows XP, or Microsoft Windows 2000. The Malicious Software Removal Tool supersedes all virus-cleaner tools that were previously released by Microsoft.
The Malicious Software Removal Tool is a roll-up of all of the malware removal utilities that Microsoft had previously released. It scans your PC and removes a number of viruses and worms: Berbew, Blaster, DoomJuice, Gaobot, Mydoom, Nachi, Sasser, and Zindos. The tool doesn't include any real-time scanning capabilities. Microsoft says it will release new versions of the tool each month alongside its monthly security updates.
The Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool is available for Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Server 2003. Currently, only Windows XP users can download and run the tool by using Windows Update or Automatic Updates. Support for computers that are running Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003 will be added in a future release. If you are using Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003, you can run the tool On-Line.

Microsoft Releases Outlook 2003 Junk E-mail Filter Update
This week, Microsoft released an update to Office Outlook 2003 enhancing the junk e-mail filter to help provide a higher level of protection against junk e-mail.
The update can be downloaded from the Microsoft download [Eng - 3.33 MB] Web site. Other language versions are available from the download site.
