Microsoft Releases Office XP Service Pack 3
by Arie Slob
Hello Windows users,
This week, Microsoft released the third Service Pack for Office XP. Office XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) provides the latest updates to Microsoft Office XP. SP3 contains significant security enhancements, in addition to stability and performance improvements. This service pack applies to any level of Office XP. It contains all updates included in Office XP Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), and updates released after SP2.
Microsoft suggests using the Office Updates Web site, which will detect your Office installation, and prompt you to install exactly what you need to be fully updated, in order to minimize the time required to download this update. But you can also download [Eng - 16 MB] the full SP-2 client update.
You can find more information on Office XP Service Pack 3, including a list of fixes, from the Overview of the Office XP Service Pack 3 Web page. Administrators can use several ways to roll out SP3 in their organization, more information can be found on the Office XP Web site.
Install SP3 without the original Office XP CD
When installing SP3, you may be prompted to insert one or more of your original Office XP CD-ROMs. If you do not have access to your original Office XP CD-ROM you can install Office XP SP3 Full File Version [Eng - 57.5 MB]. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation. For more information, please see the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 828451: Why Service Packs, Updates, and Security Patches May Require the Office XP CD-ROM.

Windows XP Tip: Clean up your Hard Drive
Over time, your Hard Disk fills up with all kinds of stuff, and before you know it, that drive you bought just a year or so ago, and whose capacity looked great back then, is already alarmingly full. You need a certain amount of "headroom" or empty space on your harddrive for Windows to function properly. Things like the Windows swap file require empty space on the harddrive for standby utilization and your system can slow down enormously if it's not available.
