Microsoft Bestows MVP Award
by Arie Slob
Hello Windows users,
This week Microsoft informed me that I was chosen to receive the title "Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP)" for my work on the Windows-Help.NET Newsletter, and postings on mailing lists.
According to Microsoft, "Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals are individuals who are recognized by peers as well as by Microsoft for past credible participation, highest quality answers and a demonstrated willingness to share their Microsoft technical expertise with others while providing guidance and assistance in peer-to-peer technical communities worldwide."
While I had heard of the program in the past, I had never thought I would qualify for it, as in the past Microsoft considered only people who provided their "assistance" in the Microsoft newsgroups, something I just never found the time for because I already spend so much time on various mailing lists, and our own WindowsBBS.com support forum.
The MVP award comes with some benefits, a modest gift, MSDN Universal or TechNet Plus subscription, access to private MVP discussion forums, and access to a dedicated Microsoft program and relationship owner.
So let me just say: THANK YOU! It is an honor to be recognized by Microsoft and to have this opportunity to contribute to the Internet community, and I'd also like to thank our readers for supporting our wesbite and newsletter.
A copy of the MVP certificate is proudly displayed on our Web site.
