Windows 2000 SP3 Close
by Arie Slob
Hello Windows users,
Microsoft is edging closer to a release of Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Windows 2000. According to information I received, SP3 will also include changes to comply with a settlement that was agreed upon with the Justice Department and nine states back in November last year. These changes will be similar to those in Windows XP SP1, and which I reported in the newsletter erlier this month.
Service Pack 3 will include a slew of security and compatibility updates targeting areas as setup, application compatibility, operating system reliability, and numerous security issues. Microsoft's support knowledge base reveals a list of 200 identifiable issues that have been uncovered since the Service Pack 2.
A release date for SP3 hasn't been announced yet, but it's widely expected to be released in the next 2-3 months.

"I just installed TweakMASTER... the difference is AMAZING. I use DSL as well as modem (just to see the difference with both) I love THIS, No problems what so ever. AOL surfing is a lot more fun now. I feel like I got a whole new computer. I have installed it on 2 systems so far and I am
tickled pink. I have two more computers to install it on. I am using AOL 5.0. Thank you for allowing me to test this, I think I fell in love with it." -- Naomi Alvarado, USA

akFontViewer
A freeware utility that lets you view samples of all your installed fonts in Windows. It can show a list of fonts with each font rendered in its own typeface. Also a window much like a Character Map -- which is always active -- shows you which fonts have full character sets and which don't. Other features enable you to define a sample text string, and to check off attributes you'd like to display -- such as bold, italic, underline, and strikeout. Print function is also supported.
