  What Will 2002 Bring?

by Arie Slob

Hello Windows users,

First off all let me wish everyone a Happy New Year! I hope that 2002 will bring everything you expect from it!

Now at this time everyone tries to look ahead, and predicts what will be "in" or "out" in the New Year... So I'll go along and give some opinions here!

Security will stay at the top of every computer users agenda. We will be bombarded with new worms & viruses, such as the latest W32.Maldal.D@mm. I'll admit it gets old fast....

Memory Prices are on the rise. South Korea's Hynix Semiconductor Inc announced a 30 percent hike in contract chip prices for 128MB DRAM chips, and other manufacturers are considering raising their price too. So maybe it's time to grab some extra memory now?

A Faster P4 seems on the horizon. Intel will soon be introducing it's 2.0 and 2.2GHz "Northwood" Pentium 4 processors. Build using 0.13-micron technology (rather than 0.18-micron) and featuring 512KB cache (rather than 256KB) will boost the performance of this new Pentium chip.

I know, this is a rather brief list, but my crystal boll has been off-line for a while now.

Windows Support BBS

I know that some of you are waiting impatiently for the return of our Support BBS. Well, I can tell you that I'm close to launching a complete new Support BBS quite soon. I'm currently tweaking and testing it, and hope to have it on-line in the coming week! If you want to be the 1st to know, submit your email address here.
