Microsoft has launched its second Office 2000 update, Service Pack 2 (SP-2).
According to Microsoft, Service Pack 2 for Office 2000 (SP-2) provides a collection of fixes and security updates designed to improve the performance and reliability of your Office applications.
The most important thing to realize is that the Outlook 2000 SR-1 Security Update Administrative Tools update (which is part of SP-2) limits certain functionality within Outlook to provide a higher level of security. Restrictions include limits to specific types of attachments, heightened default security settings, and controlled access to the Outlook automation code. This update provides protection from most e-mail viruses that spread themselves through e-mail, or worm viruses that can replicate through Microsoft Outlook, but will limit your Outlook functionality.

Although this update is available for individual users, the target is the corporate user, and I would advise you to do some thorough research before you decide to install this update. There is no uninstall option, you would have to reinstall Office 2000 from scratch should you decide to remove SP-2 from your system.
