Dear Windows-Help.NET Subscriber,
Microsoft has launched its second Office 2000 update, Service Pack 2 (SP-2).
According to Microsoft, Service Pack 2 for Office 2000 (SP-2) provides a collection of fixes and security updates designed to improve the performance and reliability of your Office applications.
The most important thing to realize is that the Outlook 2000 SR-1 Security Update Administrative Tools update (which is part of SP-2) limits certain functionality within Outlook to provide a higher level of security. Restrictions include limits to specific types of attachments, heightened default security settings, and controlled access to the Outlook automation code. For more information, see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article Q264128, Known Interoperability Issues with the Outlook E-mail Security Update.
This update provides protection from most e-mail viruses that spread themselves through e-mail, or worm viruses that can replicate through Microsoft Outlook, but will limit your Outlook functionality.
For a list of all changes see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article Q276257, List of Issues Fixed in Office 2000 Service Pack 2.
To get started with SP-2, see How to Obtain and Install Office 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP-2), or go directly to the Office Update Web site. Localized versions will be made available through the Localized Tools tab on the Office Resource Kit Web site.
The Office 2000 SP-2 is also available on CD-ROM, to order visit the Office Update Web site.
Although this update is available for individual users, the target is the corporate user, and I would advise you to do some thorough research before you decide to install this update. There is no uninstall option, you would have to reinstall Office 2000 from scratch should you decide to remove SP-2 from your system.

"You have to try this this handy little utility, Filesplit. It helps me break up big files into smaller pieces so I can send em to my friends via email. It's a big advantage that my friends don't even have to have FileSplit installed on their computer to put the files back together again!" -- John Evans, UK
